Travel Vlogging
Travel vlogging is a form of travel blogging, but through videos. Travel vlogging adds color and style to a travel blog that traditional text and photos cannot provide. Imagine being able to have the viewer hear the story the way you meant to tell it. Yes, that is the joy of travel vlogging, and with the growth of social video networks, like YouTube and Vimeo, travel vlogging has become a popular form of media for travelers worldwide.
Creating a Travel Vlog
Not everyone wants to carry around a video camera when traveling or backpacking, but with technology today, vlogging is becoming super easy. In order to create the video, you can use a combination of webcams on your computer, point-and-shoot cameras that short video and even cell phones.
After the footage has been gathered, the vlog can be created. Most computers will come with a basic movie maker program on it (Windows Movie Maker) that can easily compose videos using audio, video and photos. Windows Movie Maker, for example, allows you to piece together these items while also including video effects, titles, credits and transitions. If necessary, a narration track can be recorded and added instead of a music audio track.
Video Hosting for a Travel Vlog
When the video is finished, you will need to upload the final product to a video hosting website. A video hosting website, like YouTube or Vimeo, will be responsible for the data transfer / bandwidth usage that occurs because of web users viewing your vlog.
Choosing a video hosting site is really up to what you require. While YouTube is definitely the most popular website out there - probably driving more traffic to your vlog - it may not be the community you are looking for in a vlog hosting site.
Embedding the Travel Vlog
So that your fans are able to see your travel vlog when visiting your website, you will need to embed the code for the video into a selected page. The code should be presented with the video. Simply copy the code and paste it into a blog post and your new travel vlog will be viewed by hundreds, if not millions!
